Rise of Merlin follows a younger Merlin during his days as a maturing wizard, not yet the legendary figure we all know and love. Merlin’s mystic Magical Orb acts as both the Wild and the Scatter, substituting for any symbol to help create winning paylines or as a tool to trigger the game’s Free Spin feature.

Features:

The Free Spin feature will be triggered by landing 3 or more Magical Orbs anywhere on the reels and will award an initial eight free spins, as well as paying out for the number of Scatters on the reels.

The feature can be re-triggered by landing three or more Scatters on the reels again during Free Spins, giving another eight spins.

At the start of Free Spins, one symbol is chosen at random to become the special expanding symbol for the duration of the feature.

The symbol chosen is marked for visibility and then, if enough instances of that symbol appear on the reels then, once the normal lines have paid out the symbol will expand, and all other symbols on that reel will be converted to the expanding symbol. During the Free Spins, you need two of the chosen symbol to land on the reels if it is an HP, or three if it is an LP.

Each re-trigger of the feature adds an extra expanding symbol and the same rules apply as above, but each symbol will expand in turn, starting with the lowest paying symbol.

This means after a qualifying spin; the normal lines will pay out, then the first symbol will then expand and payout, the lines will return to normal and then the second symbol will expand and payout and so on until all qualifying symbols have expanded.

It is possible to re-trigger Free Spins until all symbols have become expanding symbols.
